Adhectic stock a large range of hardwood species to include the following.

American White Oak. Colour ranges from pale biscuit to light yellow brown occasionally with pinkish tinge.Straight grain with a medium to coarse texture. Machines well & stains & polishes to an excellent finish. Used for interior joinery, furniture & flooring. Non durable

European Oak. Colour light tan to biscuit with silver grey figure on quarter sawn. Usually straight grain but varies. Used for furniture & cabinet work, internal & external joinery. Ideal for tight cooperage for cognac, flooring & veneers.

American Ash. Coloured pale cream to greyish brown. Generally straight grained with coarse but even texture. Machines & turns well. Appropiate for applications where strength is required. Used for joinery, furniture & flooring. Non durable. Do not use externally.

Cherry. Colour ranges from golden yellow in the sapwood to pinkish red in the heartwood. Straight grained with fine, even texture. Machines and finishes extremely well. Used for cabinet making. Decorative joinery & kiitchens. Excellent for turning. Not suitable for external use.

Maple. Colour cream to pale reddish brown. Strong & resistant to shock. Straight grained with fine texture. Traditionally a flooring timber. Also used for furniture, turning & internal joinery. Machines & planes well. Non durable & not suitable for external use.

Tulipwood. Colour ranges from white to pale olive green with brown markings. Straight grained with fine, even texture. Relatively strong & moderately light weight & low shock resistancy. Used as an alternative to ramin, obeche & rubberwood. Used for interior joinery & mouldings. Non durable.

Meranti. Colour golden brown but deepens on exposure. May be darker with black markings. Straight grain with coarse texture. Works moderately easily. Acid resistant properties. Traditionlly used for ship & boat building. Excellent for decking, exterior joinery & furniture. Very durable.

Teak. Colour golden brown but deepens on exposure. May be darker with black markings. Straight grain with coarse texture. Works moderately easily. Acid resistant properties. Traditionlly used for ship & boat building. Excellent for decking, exterior joinery & furniture. Very durable.

Iroko. Colour varies from light yellow to golden brown. Coarse texture often with an interlocked grain. Works moderately easily. Hardwearing & resistant to decay. Has many of the desirable features of teak. Suitable for interior & exterior joinery, kitchen furniture & marine work. Very durable.

Sapele. Colour dark reddish brown heartwood with whitish to pale yellow sapwood. Grain interlocked or wavy with medium to fine texture. Works fairly easily. Used for general joinery, furniture & flooring. Moderate durability.

Utile. Colour fairly uniform reddish or purplish brown. Grain is interlocked & rather irregular. Texture fine but more open than sapele. Suitable for high quality joinery, cabinet work, furniture & boat building. Durable.

Idigbo. Colour is yellow to light brown. Straight or slightly irregular grain with a medium to fairly coarse texture. Works well with both machinery & hand tools & finishes cleanly. Medium weight. Excellent utility timber - durable & outstanding stability. Used for furniture & high class joinery internally & externally. Suitable for flooring & mouldings. For exterior use.
